What Is Therapeutic Coaching?

Therapeutic coaching is a powerful blend of evidence-based parenting strategies, nervous system regulation, and practical tools for everyday family life.

It goes beyond traditional coaching by working with both the mind and the body, helping parents and children move out of stress and into connection.

My approach brings together the best of:

  • Jai Parenting Institute Principles – shifting from reactive discipline to connection-based parenting, where empathy and communication come first.

  • Polyvagal Theory – understanding how our nervous system shapes behaviour and emotional responses.

  • NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) – reframing unhelpful thought patterns and transforming communication for stronger relationships.

  • EFT (Tapping) – calming the body’s stress response through gentle acupressure points.

  • Breathwork & Mindfulness – simple, grounding practices that restore balance in moments of overwhelm.

• 16 years as a senior leader, working closely with children and families in schools, specialising in social, emotional, and mental health as well as child wellbeing.

• Experienced in behaviour management and providing emotional support.

• Guided families through school transitions and key developmental milestones.

• Prior to my career in education, I worked in marketing and events within the publishing industry, where I honed my ability to communicate clearly and deliver practical, engaging solutions.

  • Use Polyvagal-informed exercises to restore calm.

  • Practise EFT, breathwork and mindfulness as everyday tools.

  • Model healthy emotional regulation so children feel safe and supported.
